yours truly moda love

This quilt is truly (no pun intended) one of my favorite quilts. I was massively pregnant when I pieced + quilted it, and decided at the last minute that it was going to be my hospital quilt. With all of my other quilts, I put a lot of thought into the best fabrics to fit a quilt top pattern, which quilting pattern will look best with both of those elements, and a backing + binding to pull it all together. This one was so different. It's just a bunch of favorites, regardless of how they were going to play together.

I used Cotton + Steel's line yours truly. My backing is a flannel sheet set from Target on clearance. I got adventurous and tried out a new-to-me wool batting (I had horrible luck with bearding on my Moda Building Blocks quilt that used a different wool brand!). The quilting is rebecca's roses which look like big Austin roses (they're as if a peony + rose had a baby together... so beautiful!!). And this was the last quilt that Haley hand bound for me before she moved to Idaho. We used the light blue rosa print from Rifle Paper Co.

Somehow, they all played well together and I absolutely love how it turned out.
